Bloody Bones is gonna getcha!

Mother said to be home before dark
I was having too much fun in the park
Suddenly the streetlights made sparks
A cold wind started blowing and the chill made its mark
With a shiver I turned to head back
Far up the street a shadow turned black
My heart started racing my mind was in a stack
My feet were growing heavy my muscles turned slack
The shadow grew closer, I swear it looked red
It was a block away from home and I heard singing in my head
I looked a round for assistance, but the neighborhood was dead
And the singing grew louder and this is what it said:

Bloody Bones is gonna getcha!

I’m halfway to my house but I’m moving ever slow
The shadow that I flee has turned out to be blood and bones
I hear the wet sounds he makes when his feet hits the stones
Tears are trailing down my face wishing I never left home
Now the sun is completely gone and the moon is shining bright
I’m slowly heading up the stairs and bloody bones is clearly in sight
I’m shaking from the fear and straining to move with all of my might
Thinking of my Mothers words to be home before twilight
A few feet from the door now and I’m slowed by growing dread
Bloody bones is moving faster and I’m barely just ahead
My hand is on the handle but now his hand is on my threads
His singing’s growing ever louder and this is what he says:

(A coooold wet hand touches my back with a sting
I scream in terror at what the bloody bones may bring
I pull on the door knob and suddenly it flings
And there stands my Mother, surprised by my frightened cling
Bloody bones has disappeared and I safely go to bed
But the singing still rings in my ears and the words that the creature said:
